Lily Philpott was born in Santiago, Chile, and raised in New England. She lives in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. She is a 2021 New York Community Trust Non-profit Leadership Fellow, a member of the International Committee at the Brooklyn Book Festival, and contributes interviews with emerging writers from Abya Yala / The Americas to Huellas magazine. Currently, she is the Programs Manager at the Asian American Writers’ Workshop, where she curates and produces public programs, and oversees the Margins and Open City Fellowships, and the CreateNow writers-in-the-schools program. She has worked at PEN America (where she launched the PEN Out Loud series, and coordinated Lit Crawl NYC for many years), the Guggenheim Museum, and the New York Public Library.
